Recchia Raises Over $1 Million in Campaign for Congress

Today, Council Member Domenic M. Recchia, Jr, candidate in New York's 11th congressional district, announced that his campaign has raised over $1,021,000. With over a year to go before the election, this is a record amount for a challenger in this district. The filing submitted today will show that Recchia has nearly $904,000 cash on hand, having raised over $304,000 in the third quarter.

"I'm very humbled and proud of the broad base of support we are building on this campaign. The energy and momentum on the ground is palpable and incredibly inspiring," said Council Member Recchia.

"I hear from people in Staten Island and South Brooklyn every day that they want new leadership in Congress--they are tired of the obstructionism, they want results. In Congress, I'm going to be a leader who focuses on solving problems and who puts the people first. That's the kind of leadership this district deserves," Recchia added.

Recchia is currently a candidate for Congress in New York's 11th congressional district, encompassing Staten Island and South Brooklyn. He has served on the New York City Council since 2002, as Chair of the powerful Finance Committee and Cultural Affairs Committee. As Finance Chair, Recchia passed four on-time, balanced, and fiscally responsible budgets, without raising taxes.
